goAsk Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of goAsk, including the goAsk app and related websites (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You may use the Service only if you:

  • Are legally able to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction
  • Are at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority where you live)
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you personally authorized it.

You must keep your login credentials secure. goAsk is not responsible for loss or damage resulting from unauthorized access caused by your actions or omissions.

2. Nature of the Service

goAsk is a marketplace that allows individuals ("Askers") to request and pay for one-off, asynchronous responses from independent creators ("Creators").

goAsk:

  • Is not a party to the agreement between Askers and Creators
  • Does not employ Creators and does not control how they respond
  • Does not guarantee that any request will be accepted, answered, or meet expectations
  • Is not a messaging service, live chat, or ongoing support channel

Creators act independently and are solely responsible for their responses.

3. Requests, responses, and delivery

When an Asker submits a request:

  • The request is sent to the selected Creator
  • Each request has a defined response window
  • If no response is delivered within that window, the request expires

Expired requests are treated as not completed.

goAsk may apply reasonable limits to requests, availability, or timing to protect the Service and its users.

4. Payments, pricing, and platform fees

When an Asker submits a paid request:

  • The payment method may be authorized to confirm available funds
  • Payment is completed only if and when a response is delivered within the response window

goAsk charges a platform fee of 20% per completed request. This fee is deducted from Creator earnings and is reflected transparently in balances and payouts.

In addition, Askers pay a fixed $1 USD payment fee per payment. This fee goes to goAsk and is included in the total shown to the Asker before checkout.

Payment processing is handled by third-party providers. goAsk does not store payment card details.

5. Refunds, failed payments, and chargebacks

Because payment is intended to occur only after delivery, refunds are expected to be limited.

  • If no response is delivered, the Asker should not be charged
  • If a payment fails or expires, the request is cancelled
  • Once a valid response is delivered, the transaction is considered completed

If a response clearly violates platform rules or applicable law, goAsk may review the matter and, at its sole discretion, issue credits or refunds. goAsk is not required to do so.

Abusive refund requests or chargebacks may result in account restriction or termination.

Nothing in this section limits mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.

6. Creator content and usage rights

Creators retain ownership of the content they submit through the Service.

By submitting content, Creators grant goAsk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, limited license to host, store, copy, and display that content solely for operating, maintaining, moderating, and improving the Service.

Unless otherwise agreed, Askers receive access to responses for personal use only and may not resell, publish, or redistribute them.

7. Reviews and feedback

Askers may be allowed to submit reviews or feedback about completed requests.

By submitting a review, you grant goAsk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute that review in connection with the Service, including for marketing, promotion, moderation, and product improvement.

goAsk:

  • Is not required to publish any review
  • May show, hide, reorder, limit, or remove reviews at its discretion
  • Does not guarantee that reviews reflect typical experiences

Reviews must be honest and lawful. goAsk may remove reviews that violate platform rules or applicable law.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or fraudulent purposes
  • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse others
  • Submit content you do not have the right to share
  • Attempt to bypass pricing, fees, limits, or payment flows
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the Service

goAsk may remove content or restrict access if these rules are violated.

9. Enforcement and termination

goAsk may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Service if:

  • These Terms are violated
  • Platform rules are abused
  • The Service, its users, or third parties are put at risk
  • Required by law or regulatory obligation

Enforcement actions are applied in a reasonable and proportionate manner.

Termination does not affect payment obligations already incurred.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."

goAsk makes no guarantees regarding:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of Creator responses
  • Whether a response will meet an Asker's needs or expectations
  • Any outcome resulting from use of the Service

Responses are not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. Creators are solely responsible for their content.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • goAsk is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • goAsk is not liable for loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • goAsk's total liability for any claim will not exceed the platform fees paid to goAsk for the specific request giving rise to the claim

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Mandatory consumer protections under local law remain unaffected.
